Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

(a)    Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities will entail:-

i)                 Prepare and issuing of standard tender documents;

ii)               Participate in tender and quotation opening and evaluation;

iii)             Initiate documentation for payment of suppliers for the goods/services rendered;

iv)              Prepare and maintain lists of registered suppliers;

v)               Generate the Local Purchase Orders (LPOs) /Local Service Orders (LSOs);

vi)              Assist in the preparation of Supply Chain Management statutory reports;

vii)            Carry out Market Surveys and prepare report with recommendations;

viii)          Daily reconciliation of stock records and routine entries;

ix)              Carry out periodic and annual stock taking and prepare reports for statutory submissions;

x)               Undertake inspections and acceptance for goods and services received and prepare a report;

xi)              Issue of assets and inventory to user department and maintaining and updating the registers and records;

xii)            Liaise with user department to identify obsolete and unserviceable items for disposal; and

xiii)          Ensure stores are clean, secure and well organized.

(b)    Requirements for Appointment

 For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

i)                 A Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supplies Management, Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Contract Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management;

ii)               Membership to the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM);

iii)             valid practicing license from a recognized body;

iv)              At least 3 years working experience in Supply Chain Management; and

v)               Proficiency in use of Computer Applications.
